Night sweats may be a normal thing to have but they are also preventable. Sleeping pills are not the way to go either. If you are looking for something healthy, look into Himilayan Goji Juice. It is the only functional juice on the market with medical validation. There are also 72 published clinical studies at Pubmed.org under the heading Lycium Barbarum. This product will not only get rid of the night sweats, which it did for me, but you will also have a good nights sleep every night. It helps with any auto-immune deficiency because it is an adaptogen.
Please have a look and see what it can do for you.
References :
www.vbouvier.healthsecret.org

I didn't have hot flushes during the day, but woke up sweating during the night. I also suffered from depressions, broke out into tears for no reasons until I decided to to hat a grip of the situation.
I kept a journal with my thoughts, changed the way I ate and added a lot of soy to my diet and generally foods that are rich in phytoestrogens, like beans, legumes, seaweed, yams, apples, potatoes, and carrots.
To fight my depressions I took a yoga class and also danced a lot whenever things went rough. ;)
Eventually things calmed down and looking back I think it was not so bad after all.
I didn't gain weight so far (its five years now) and feel as attractive and as alive and young as before. All the best!
References :
Some suggestions they give: Dong guai, chaste berry, black cohash Go to http//www.project-aware.org

I find that when I walk into a health food store - they are helpful in directing me to a good product
References :
http://www.project-aware.org

try soy milk, they say it's good for hot flashes so maybe it will work for night sweats. you will have to look into it to see how much to drink a day.
References :
Not everyone but many have hot flashes so intense they want to rip their clothes off. Wear layers even in winter. I almost only wear cardigan sweaters as my pullovers are annoying to keep putting on & taking off. You can be chilly when you're not boiling. It hits you in about 5 seconds. Avoid cafine if you can...inspires hot flashes as do most hot drinks. Speaking of drinks... booze not good for you either inspires hot flashes.

Because I'm so warm in bed I toss & turn a lot and have a ceiling fan with remote controls. That helps a lot. In the winter I was sleeping with the windows open. I even did that in N.Y. in the winter.

I took my temp. in my mouth while having a semi-intense hot flash. It was 103 degrees. I think it can be worse as I personally wasn't soaking wet hardly ever and many people are. My friend could feel the heat radiating off my body at about 10 inches away. Interesting huh ?

Excersize is good for easing the symptoms.

Have fun & good luck !

Major sweats especially at night. Some people are soaking wet. Doen't help trying to sleep either.

For some mood swings. I didn't have that. Oh, some women in their 70's say they still get hot flashes now and then. Bummer.
References :
One time aerobic instr. who has hot flashes.

If you are wanting to have a water retention period each night, I suggest getting a salt pill. This could reduce the amount of sweat your body produces, regardless of the hypoglycemia. This is because your body will be over salinated. The usual result is a lowered amount of sweat, water retention, and a lack of thirst. I wouldn't suggest doing it every night, but perhaps three days out of the week. You don't want to raise your blood pressure with sodium, because this could elevate the night sweats. Also, if it's just a case of discomfort, due to wetness... switch to cotton bedding. Use a fan, which will help to dry the sweat away at a faster pace, and don't wear any synthetics when you go to bed. Also, dress down, the less cloth on your body, the less is needed to dry. I hope my suggestions help you... otherwise I wouldn't know what to do.
References :
I am unsure of your age but you can take Nutrilite Black Cohosh and Soy supplements. They are derived from organic farms. Go to http://arcameda.com and search for it for more information.
