This will tell you what I did.

Not many years ago I shocked to learn I had cancer; I was not pleased to find that I would have to get a hysterectomy at such a young age. Though I have two children already, I prayed to have been able to maintain the option for another if we so decided. It is a weird feeling to know that you will no longer have children especially when it is not your choice.

In the beginning of my fight I was given a regiment of treatments that required radiation and chemotherapy. The chemo was not too bad in the beginning but as time went on it was apparent it was altering my body. I know it can kill cancer but it felt like a battle to the death was occurring inside my body and the outcome would either be me or the cancer. I have always thought there should be a better way to deal with fighting cancer. Perhaps one day the cure will be made available to us, but until then I will only dream that if there is a biological un-patentable cure out there, the health and pharmaceutical industry will keep it under lock and key.

In due course I was able consider myself cancer free and the feeling of liberation had covered me from head to toe. Except as soon as I had found this fresh relief I found a fresh dilemma had taken its place.

Prior to cancer I had a somewhat ordinary sleep pattern. I would go to sleep, awaken maybe one time for a restroom break and return to bed to finish with a satisfied night’s sleep. But subsequent to the therapy and the surgical procedure I found myself thrown into a new world of hysterectomy menopause.

Instantly with this menopause came its cousin, menopausal night sweats, and an entire line of other troubles. If I were to tell you all of the related issues included I might go on forever. The night sweats were enough. The sweats would keep me up all night plus make my partner to lose immeasurable hours of rest as well. Ultimately it caused my partner to relocate to an alternative room. I had to find a solution. These night sweats were destroying me and my marriage.

I looked at several solutions to my problem and tried pretty much every organic and un-natural medication obtainable. I tried chilly pillows, I tried absorbing nightshirts, I tried bizarre sheets, you name it I tried it. I was about to resign when a colleague of mine told me about a doohickey called a Bedfan. Now to be quite frank with you as she said it over the telephone I thought she said Bed Pan and I was a tad taken back as I could not guess for the life of me how a Bed Pan would help with night sweats.

Nonetheless, the Bedfan came to be the hero I was looking for. For me to explain how it works I will take a excerpt from one of the initial users of the fan. One woman said it was like cooling off under a waterfall and not getting wet at all. That is just how it felt. Starting from that first night on, I never had night sweats yet again. Now don’t misconstrue I can sense my body getting warmer and only from habit for a time I expected to begin sweating, but it in no way happened.

It seems that the way this device works is, as soon as your body starts getting hot, your bed is not able to purge that heat quickly enough. By way of the Bedfan the heat is carried out of the bed, never giving it an opportunity to build up to sweating. Imagine how it feels; the next time you are relaxing in bed and you begin to feel muggy, simply lift up your legs to raise the sheets up high. Then gradually let your legs down and experience the gentle breeze gliding across your body to cool it down. That is how it feels all night long.

At last I find myself disappointed that I can no longer have children but in any case I am still breathing. Not only am I still breathing but thanks to the Bedfan, I am able to sleep again and get the relaxation I require so that I can still spend time with the lovely children I do have. I trust this helps others as much as it has me and my partner.
